The human struggle to evade aging and mortality is a tale as old as time. Humanity has been trying and failing since forever, leaving the general impression that there's no running away from aging and that there's nothing we can do about it.

However, breakthroughs such as CRISPR, epigenetic reprogramming, and Google’s incredible AlphaFold, do a great job at renewing hope.  With new developments coming to light every day, it’s sensible to assume that humanity may finally have gotten their head in the game.

Recently, prominent scientists like David Sinclair, Aubrey de Grey, Nir Barzilai and George Church (To name a few) made it to the headlines when they shared their views on what the future holds for human health. What’s more? They’re successfully catching everyone’s eye. These three have a lot of educational and interesting content stacked up on their YouTube channels and can help you get a great head start on longevity if that’s something that interests you.

Many online communities such as r/longevity on Reddit, are experiencing remarkable growth, and have new YouTube channels and podcasts popping up every day.  At the moment, this subreddit is undoubtedly the most active longevity enthusiast community. Managed by knowledgeable and mature scientists and non-scientists, the subreddit is a great place to share and obtain quality information.

lifespan.io

With headquarters in NYC, lifespan.io is a nonprofit organization founded by Keith Comito, Oliver Medvedik, and Richard Kaufman in 2014. The lifespan.io team has published a wide array of educational longevity content over a 7-year span. Their catalog has something for everyone, be it a regular newsletter or a great educational video like this excellent one on why we should end aging – to the fantastic Rejuvenation Roadmap.  The team also has a monthly Journal Club, - a great place to catch their live streams and discussions regarding the newest scientific papers.

Peter Attia’s podcast The Drive

Dr. Peter Attia (a Canadian-American physician residing in Austin, Texas), interviews a field expert every week, and the discussions are never short of being informative and interesting. Dr. Peter offers both paid and free content to his audience, and it can confidently be said that the subscription is well worth the investment!

The Sheekey Science Show

Eleanor Sheekey is a Ph.D. student at the Cancer Research UK – Cambridge Institute and creates some amazing bite-sized YouTube videos that are great for effortlessly increasing your knowledge.

Eleanor puts an innovative spin on complex topics and explains them in an easy-to-understand way. Recently, she has also started diving into longer-form interviews, making her channel worth checking out and subscribing to!

Laura Demming

Laura Deming is a true pioneer in the longevity field. Matriculating at MIT in 2008 at just 14 years old, Laura worked on artificial organogenesis and bone aging. In 2011, she established the Longevity Fund, the first venture focused on funding and facilitating high-potential longevity companies.

She has been going strong for 10 years, speaking at TEDMED in 2013, alongside a whole list of other remarkable achievements.
